Ansbro suffers broken neck

London Irish have suffered a major blow after it was confirmed that utility back Joe Ansbro has broken his neck.
The Scotland international suffered the injury during Friday's pre-season friendly with Munster and is currently being assessed at University Hospital, Cork. The London club are understandably unwilling to make too much comment at this stage but have revealed that the initial signs are good and that he could return to action before Christmas. A statement from read: "Joe broke a small bone at the top of his neck early in the game's second half. After An MRI scan, it was confirmed that immediate surgery was not required, and the injury would be managed by external fixation. "He is in the care of the club's and hospitals medical team and is expected to return to the UK later this week."
