Canterbury Crusader head coach Todd Blackadder has revealed Richie McCaw could return to action against the Waratahs this weekend.
Having helped New Zealand lift the Webb Ellis trophy with a World Cup final win over France in Wellington, McCaw has since been on the sidelines with an ongoing foot problem. The 31-year-old has therefore not played a competitive game since beating Les Bleus back in October but now the openside flanker looks set to lace up his boots in the Super 15 on Sunday. Blackadder is looking forward to having the All Blacks skipper back in the thick of the action, as his side hope to build on their victory over the Hurricanes last weekend. He said: "He's come so far, there's no point compromising there if he's not 100 percent so we'll make that decision later in the day and if he is fit and does come through, then we would select him. "The guys have turned up really well prepared, they've looked after themselves and they just seem really focused so at the moment this team feels unstoppable."
