Sonny Bill Williams admits the Chiefs must play better than ever to beat the Crusaders and make the Super 15 final this season.

The two Kiwi sides go head to head in Hamilton on Friday and will meet either the Stormers or the Sharks in the showpiece on August 4. However, despite winning the New Zealand Conference and playing on home soil, the Chiefs go into the game as underdogs and Williams, who is making the move to Japan at the end of the campaign, thinks he knows why that is the case. He told Fairfax: "Be confident, we deserve to be here and we've just got to play footy. But in saying that it's a lot of hard work. "The Crusaders have got internationals all over the field and are in really good form so we're going to have play better than we ever have. "We've got a whole week of extra training in, working those combinations, and we'll take that onto the pitch on Friday," added Williams, who is also a heavyweight boxer. The Stormers and the Sharks clash in Cape Town on Saturday.
