Jonathan Davies is hopeful that he will recover in time to feature in Wales' three-Test tour of Australia in June.

The Scarlets centre has been on the sidelines since the start of April with a sports hernia injury after he captained the team to a Pro12 win over Aironi. However, the 2012 Grand Slam winner has been undergoing a comprehensive rehabilitation programme and is now confident of making the plane. "Personally, I feel pretty positive," said Davies. "I am doing my rehab and everything they tell me to and, hopefully, I can get back and train in a couple of weeks. "A couple of weeks ago, I was in a pretty bad way. It has settled down nicely and the medical attention I am getting is fantastic. "I am being monitored week by week and I have the best medical care I can have. "They are just giving it time to settle down and hopefully I will be fit but I am playing it by ear at the moment." Wales have already lost centre Jamie Roberts for the series against the Wallabies to a knee problem, while Scarlets centre Scott Williams is a doubt after picking up a shoulder injury against Cardiff Blues in March.
