Griffiths up for London Irish challenge
Prop forward Cai Griffiths says he is looking forward to the challenge of playing for London Irish after sealing a move from Ospreys.
Griffiths, who has also played at loose-head, leaves the Welsh side after making over 100 appearances for them and also helping them win the Celtic and Magners League. Following his move, the 28-year-old said: "Joining London Irish is a chance to test myself in a gruelling competition week in, week out," said the 28-year-old England-qualified player. "It is a challenge I am certainly looking forward to and one I am relishing. I have enjoyed nine fantastic years at the Ospreys and would like to thank the players and coaching staff for all their help during my time there." London Irish director of rugby Brian Smith was pleased with the capture and views Griffiths as a replacement for the departing Faan Rautenbach. He said: "Cai is very solid at the set piece which is crucial when signing a tight-head prop."
