Gavin Henson has been hit with another blow in his bid to return to stardom after suffering a suspected fractured cheekbone.
The centre joined London Welsh earlier this summer, after a difficult few years both on and off the field, and was all set to play a major part in the club's fight against relegation. However, he suffered a heavy blow to his cheek during Welsh's pre-season defeat against the Scarlets on Saturday and now looks set for a spell on the sidelines. The 30-year-old will have an X-ray on the problem sometime this week but coach Lyn Jones is refusing to get too down about the situation. "I'm waiting for a bit of feedback before we can say what the extent of the injury is," Jones said. "It was a late shoulder barge off the ball. "No player wants to get injured in a pre-season friendly because of all the hard work that's been done leading up to it. You have to deal with these things in rugby. There's no use crying," he added.
