London Wasps have stepped up their preparations for the new season with the capture of Italian international Andrea Masi.

The 31-year-old joins the Aviva Premiership side from Aironi, who have withdrawn from the RaboDirect Pro12 following a disappointing season in 2011-12.
Masi has also enjoyed spells with Viadana, Biarritz and Racing Metro and has been capped at international level by the Azzurri on 69 occasions. He was one of Italy's outstanding performers at the 2011 Six Nations tournament.
Wasps director of rugby Dai Young says he is delighted to have got his man, and is confident that Masi can hit the form that saw him rated as one of Europe's best wingers this time last year.
"Andrea is a versatile player with proven quality and he will be bringing some vital experience," said Young.
"We are always looking to add real international quality. I see him giving us great depth in our back-line."
Wasps will being their 2012-13 Aviva Premiership campaign with a mouth-watering clash against defending champions Harlequins as part of a double-header of all-London fixtures at Twickenham.
