Leicester Tigers No.8 Thomas Waldrom has been called up to the England squad to face South Africa on Saturday.

The New Zealand-born forward, who will start from the bench in Johannesburg, has been brought in to replace the injured Northampton Saints man Phil Dowson, who is suffering from a tight hamstring. Head coach Stuart Lancaster has decided to make a couple of changes to the side narrowly beaten 22-17 in the opening Test in Durban. Tigers fly-half Toby Flood will start against the Springboks at the Coca-Cola Stadium to replace Saracens star Owen Farrell who struggled in the first Test. Lancaster has come out in support of Farrell and believes the youngster is still an important part of the England squad. He said: "While people will focus on Owen's dropping, he is on the bench and I am sure he will come on and have a significant role in the game."
