Exeter Chiefs have been drawn in Pool Five along with defending champions Leinster in their debut 2012-13 Heineken Cup campaign.

Exeter, who secured a place in the tournament thanks to their fifth-placed finish in the Aviva Premiership last term, will also face French side Clermont Auvergne and Scarlets of Wales in addition to three-times winners Leinster. Premiership grand final runners-up Leicester, who have won the Heineken Cup on two occasions, have been drawn in Pool Two with French champions Toulouse, Welsh side Ospreys and Italian tean Benetton Treviso. Premiership winners Harlequins will go up against Irish outfit Connacht, who knocked them out of last season's competition after a 9-8 pool stage win, while Italian newcomers Zebre and the French team Biarritz make up the rest of Pool Three. Saracens are in Pool One with last season's semi-finalists Edinburgh, Munster and Racing Metro 92, while Ulster, who lost to Leinster in the final, are pitched into Pool Four with Northampton, Glasgow Warriors and Castres. Jonny Wilkinson's Toulon take on fellow French side Montpellier, Cardiff and Sale in Pool Six. The final will be played at Dublin's Aviva Stadium on 18 May 2013.
