Australia captain David Pocock will miss the rest of the Rugby Championship after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
The 24-year-old suffered a cartilage injury in his right knee during last Saturday's Bledisloe Cup 27-19 defeat to New Zealand in Sydney. The estimated recovery time following surgery is three months, ruling him out of the rest of the Championship and also placing his participation in November's spring tour in doubt. Michael Hooper is set to make his Wallabies debut in place of the injured Pocock in Saturday's return match with the All Blacks at Eden Park. Prop Sekope Kepu will also sit out that encounter after suffering medial ligament damage in training on Tuesday.
