Northampton boss Jim Mallinder has warned his side's rivals that his team can still improve after Friday's 24-6 win over Wasps.

The Saints have made a flying start to the campaign, winning their first five games and establishing themselves as on one of the early favourites to win the title. However, after a summer of transfers at the club, Mallinder believes his side still have plenty of improving to do and has warned their rivals to expect big things once they start to gel properly. "It is pleasing to win five out of five, but I don't think we have really reached top gear," he said. "There is still a little bit more to come from us," he said. "We defended well to keep them out, but attacking-wise we could sharpen up in a few areas. If we can do that then I am sure we can put some teams to the sword."
