Rugby Union, 11:04, January 8, 2009 ,

Scotland flanker Jason White has announced that he will leave Sale at the end of the season to join Clermont Auvergne.

The 30-year-old has made over 100 appearances for the North-West outfit having joined from Glasgow in 2003, but admitted that the chance of playing in France was too good to turn down.
White, who has been described by the Sharks coach Kingsley Jones as a 'model professional', has agreed a two-year deal with Clermont and is excited about the prospect of a new challenge.
The Scotland international revealed: "It has always been an ambition of mine to play in France and I am looking forward to moving to Clermont in the summer.
"I want to leave Sale on a high and am looking to helping them win some silverware before I leave."
White admitted he would like to leave Sale 'on a high' by winning some silverware this season and thanked coaches Philippe Saint-Andre and Jones for their help during his time with the Sharks.
