Saracens picked up their first loss of the season in torrid conditions at Sandy Park, going down 14-12 against Exeter.
The first half of proceedings were severely dominated by the boot in a match-up between Exeter's Ignacio Mieres and Saracen's Owen Farrell, with the Chiefs man having more success leaving the half time score at 9-6.
Conditions got a lot worse when the players returned for the second half and a sin-binning for Chris Ashton allowed Exeter to take advantage and score the only try of the afternoon through Sireli Naqelevuki.
The win came at a vital time for Exeter, who now sit fifth in the table and continue on a tough run of fixtures that sees them take on Leicester and Premiership champions Harlequins, followed by Heineken Cup holders Leinster and French heavyweights Clermont Auvergne.
