Leicester Tigers have confirmed the capture of South African forward Wessel Jooste from French club Bourgoin.
The Tigers have landed the 31-year-old, who has impressed in seven seasons with the French outfit. Jooste made 179 appearances for Bourgoin, and has also captained the side, while he has been capped at under-19 and under-21 level for South Africa and will now bring his considerable talents to Welford Road. Leicester director of rugby Richard Cockerill was pleased with the signing, saying: "He has played a lot of his rugby in France and has captained Bourgoin. "We believe he will be a good signing for us and will complement the other guys we've got in the squad. Wessel is a big man, a good ball carrier and can play right across the back row and in the second row."
