Wasps want Haskell to stay

Rugby Union, 09:37, January 7, 2009 ,

Wasps will reject a £300,000-a-year megabucks offer from French giants Stade Francais for England star James Haskell, reports claim.

Bath and Saracens are among a host of top clubs credited with an interest in the talented 23-year-old, who has come up through the Wasps ranks with fly-half Danny Cipriani.
Haskell feels he has yet to fulfil all his potential with his boyhood club and Wasps are likely to pull out all the stops for the flanker to deter interest from rivals clubs.
A Wasps source told The Sun: "The new chairman has made it clear that his offers are non-negotiable. But it wouldn't take much movement for a deal to be done.
"A lot of fans have been getting on James' back, claiming he is after £250,000 a year or he will leave. But nothing could be further from reality."
