Jonny Wilkinson admits there would be "no way he could say no" to a potential call-up for the British and Irish Lions tour of Australia

Lions coach Warren Gatland opened the door to a call-up last month when he revealed that he still saw Wilkinson as a "fine player" and "not old" at 33. Wilkinson, who famously scored the winning drop-goal for England against Australia in the 2003 World Cup final, retired from England duty last December. He had been initially linked with a coaching role in Gatland's team Down Under next June, but the Toulon fly-half admits he would jump at the chance to go on a third Lions tour as a player. "There's no way I could say no," Wilkinson said. "In terms of what that represents, everything about it, it's enormous. Such a fabulous thing. "All I can do is play and see if I fit into those plans. If I don't, I'll make the best of what I've got, which, let's face it, is good enough."
