Former Wales star Shane Williams has decided to extend his playing career by signing a deal with Mitsubishi Dynaboars in Japan.
The 35-year-old looked to have played his last competitive game having guided the Ospreys to RaboDirect PRO12 glory, before playing in an invitational game for the Barbarians.
However, Williams has delayed hanging his boots after the opportunity arose to play in the developing league in Japan, which has seen a host of stars feature in its ranks.
The experienced winger has decided to sign a one-year-deal with Mitsubishi Dynaboars and is looking forward to the challenge of playing in the Far East.
He told Wales Online: "At first I said no, it came as a real surprise and the offer only came shortly before the Barbarians match.
"But then when I sat down with my wife to discuss it we realised what a great opportunity it would be.
"So we're all going and I'm excited. I have spoken to players who know what it is like out there, the likes of Mils Muliaina, Jerry Collins and George Smith, and they all said the life experience is fantastic."
