Accies chairman backs manager

New Hamilton chairman Les Gray has offered his backing to under-fire manager Billy Reid.

Reid has been in charge of the Accies since 2005 but has lost the support of some of the fans at New Douglas Park after failing to take the club straight back to the Scottish Premier League after their relegation last season. But Gray has revealed his confidence in the 48-year-old and believes he is the right man to take the club back to the top flight, despite recent boardroom changes. He said: "There has been a lot of shouting for Billy to go and all that nonsense. "It's all subjective. Will Billy be going? Absolutely not. The manager is at the forefront of my plan to bring through the next bunch of young players." Hamilton are currently fourth in the Scottish First Division, 25 points behind already-promoted league leaders Ross County.
