Adamson hails 'outstanding' Grindlay
Scottish Division 1,
Dumbarton boss Alan Adamson was full of praise for goalkeeper Stephen Grindlay after he helped steer the club into the play-off final.
The Sons booked their place in the promotion play-off final alongside Airdrie following an excellent rearguard display at Arbroath on Saturday. Dumbarton protected their 2-1 first-leg lead to progress and Adamson hailed the contribution of his keeper. "Stephen was named in the Second Division team of the year and a lot of people wonder why. Well that's why. He was outstanding," said the Sons manager. Grindlay insisted he was just doing his job and is excited ahead of the first leg of the final at Dumbarton Football Stadium on Wednesday. "It's my job to make saves. We've now got a great chance to make the First Division and as a local boy that would be a massive achievement," said Grindlay.
