Airdrie eyeing O'Brien

Airdrie United are looking at signing former Blackburn Rovers, Livingston, Sheffield Wednesday and Falkirk midfielder Burton O'Brien.

The 31-year-old last played in May 2011 when the Bairns lost 3-0 to Dunfermline, although he featured in a bounce game for the Diamonds on Monday night against Albion Rovers and talks over a deal have started.
O'Brien, who played for Scotland's under-21 side 6 times and won a League Cup winners medal for Livi, is also in demand abroad though.
Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle said: "Burton has a great deal of experience and is versatile so he would be a welcome addition to any squad in this league. We will keep talking to him to see what we can do to bring him on board."
