Bairns confirm keeper stay

Falkirk have confirmed that goalkeeper Michael McGovern has signed a new contract at the club for next season.

The Northern Ireland international played in all but one of the Bairns' games during the 2011/12 campaign, providing his side with a solid foundation as they went on to finish the season third in the Scottish Division One table. Boss Steven Presley has now confirmed that the former Celtic stopper will remain with the club for at least another year and says he is delighted that the 27-year-old has agreed to stay. "I am delighted that Michael has signed on again at Falkirk as he was fantastic for us last season," Pressley said. "Not only is he great for us on the park, he is great for us off it as he is a terrific influence around the dressing room. Having him signed up already is a huge boost for the club."
