Diamonds add Barclay and Watt

Airdrie United have offered two youngsters from their youth squad Jamie Barclay and Liam Watt professional contracts until May 2014.

Midfielder Barclay, who is 17, made his first team debut against Dumbarton earlier this season and has signed on, as has 18-year-old striker Watt, who has battled back from injury and was on the bench for manager Jimmy Boyle's first team at Falkirk last Saturday. Boyle said, "Jamie and Liam have applied themselves in a professional and diligent manner and it is important that they know they have a big part in our future plans despite their young age." "I am delighted we have a Reserve League this year as young players are getting an early chance to see how they get on against more experienced opposition."
