Airdrie manager Jimmy Boyle has installed Dumbarton as favourites ahead of tonight's Scottish First Division play-off final first-leg.
But Boyle says his side can still have a say in the tie and says they will be doing everything in their power to cause an upset. Airdrie beat relegated Ayr to move into the final for their right to play First Division football next season but now face a tough test against Dumbarton who finished eight points better off in the regular season. Boyle told the Daily Record: "A few months ago we probably didn't expect to be in this position so there is really no pressure on us. "This is a bonus tie and we'll be relaxed. There is no expectation on us to win this one. Now we're there, though, we'll give it a right go. "But they finished above us in the league and rightly so. We're major underdogs and I definitely think it's right that they are favourites." Sons boss Alan Adamson is not bowing to the mind games. He said: "Jimmy is probably being clever if he is saying we're favourites. There has been nothing between the sides in recent meetings. It's about who plays better on the day."
