Ross County legend Brian Irvine believes the Staggies will have no problem adjusting to life in the SPL.
County have dominated the First Division this season - sealing the title with a 20-point advantage over nearest challengers Dundee. Irvine, who spent five years at County between 1999 and 2003, insisted his old club will shock a few next season, saying there is no great gap in standards between the two leagues. "County are comfortably going to hold their own in the SPL. If you look at the squad they have just now, I'm convinced it could already do well in that league," said the former Aberdeen and Scotland defender. Irvine expects County to add quality to the squad and could even see them challenging at the top end of the SPL. "They could go up and not just hold their own but challenge for a top-six place," he added.
