Albion Rovers boss Todd Lumsden is looking to extend the loan deal of Partick Thistle striker Mark McGuigan.

The 23-year-old has scored three times in as many appearances since he joined on a month-long loan and Lumsden has praised the forward's attitude and work-rate both on and off the pitch. "This loan move has worked out well for both Mark and us. He has helped us become more of an attacking threat and he has got game time and goals which will help him when he eventually returns to Firhill," Lumsden said. "Mark has worked hard to play well for us as not only does he train with Thistle he comes in and trains twice a night with us. I have seen loan players that just turn up on a Saturday or come along once a week and do not really join in but Mark is not like that. "He has earned the respect from our squad for his attitude to being with us and it is good that he has some goals to tell Jackie McNamara about, however we have already told Partick that we would like to extend Mark's time with us."
