MacPherson will not resign

Queen of the South boss Gus MacPherson says he won't resign from his post amid talk that the club is subject to a takeover bid.

Speculation is rife that both MacPherson and his assistant Andy Millen will have to quit as a Preston-based sports management company has started takeover talks with Queens chairman and major shareholder David Rae. The consortium have admitted, if the bid was successful, they would insert Gary Bollan as manager. But speaking after yesterday's goalless draw with Falkirk, MacPherson said: "Under no circumstances will we resign, there's very few people that know about my contract situation at Queen of the South."
