Partick announce Murray signing

Partick Thistle have announced the signing of experienced midfielder Hugh Murray from SPL side St Mirren.

The 33-year-old spent 16 years with the Buddies, making a record number of appearances for the club but, despite his loyalty, manger Danny Lennon has decided against offering him a new contract. Jags boss Jackie McNamara has wasted no time in signing him up and says he believes the veteran playmaker will add valuable to experience to his side's promotion push next season. "Hugh Murray will bring great experience to the squad but more importantly, experience of winning the First Division," McNamara said. "It's important to have a really strong spine to the team and Hugh helps provide that as well as being help the younger members of the squad."
