Dunfermline defender John Potter has warned his side they will be a big scalp in the First Division next term.

The Pars were relegated from the SPL last season and are seen by many as the team to beat in the second tier. Potter, who was loaned to Queen of the South for the latter part of the last campaign, captained Dunfermline in their first two pre-season friendlies and is prepared for a tough start to the new season. "It will be tough - we need to start properly, that is vital. A lot of teams that come down are looked upon by teams in the First Division as a bit of a scalp and Dunfermline will be one of those teams," said the 32-year-old. "We will have to be positive straight from the start and if we can start the season well in the first five or six games then I am confident that we will grow into the season and hopefully do well."
