Ross County will receive an extra £3million next season after achieving promotion to the Scottish Premier League.

The Staggies were crowned champions this week after second-placed Dundee drew with Queen of the South and celebrated the title with a 3-1 away win at Ayr. Manager Derek Adams now has a top-flight season to look forward to, accompanied with the financial rewards of moving into the Premier League. Economist Tony Mackay says a mixture of sell-out crowds and added interest in the football club would result in a £3million gain for the club over the coming campaign, according to the Daily Record. And Inverness Chamber of Commerce president Callum Grant told the newspaper: "Tony is a well-respected economist in the Highlands and we can only acknowledge his figure of £3million as a title spin-off. "This heightens the profile of the Highlands and the economic benefit will help sustain and grow local business."
