Raith defender undergoes surgery

Raith Rovers defender Laurie Ellis has undergone surgery to repair the fractured jaw he suffered in the 3-2 win at Falkirk on Saturday.
Ellis picked-up the injury during an aerial tussle with Bairns' forward Farid El Alagui, fracturing his jaw in two places and immediately being taken to hospital. The 32-year-old has now undergone successful surgery and Raith have released a statement wishing him the best in his recovery and thanking the medics at the ground for their speedy response. The statement read: "Everyone associated with Raith Rovers wishes Laurie all the very best for a full and speedy recovery. We would like to thank Falkirk, the Rapid Response medical crews and Forth Valley Royal Hospital for the prompt and professional assistance given to Laurie on Saturday."
