Robertson confident of survival

Ross Robertson backed Ayr to book another term in the First Division after scoring a crucial late winner against Dundee on Saturday.

The youngster's close-range strike secured a 3-2 victory and consigned Queen of the South to automatic relegation. Ayr look set for the play-offs with only one game remaining. Ayr had to come from behind twice to steal all three points and Robertson hopes they can carry that kind of spirit into the play-offs. "It was only my second touch - the first one went out the park. I saw Rab Douglas coming off his line and lifted the ball over his head," said the defender, who was a late substitute at Somerset Park. "We seem to be a not bad team in the cups and the play-offs will be just like that. I fancy us to stay up."
