Alan Adamson was delighted after Dumbarton came from behind to beat Stirling on Saturday and book a play-off clash with Arbroath.
Scott Davidson gave bottom-side Stirling a deserved lead just before the hour mark, only for Dumbarton to hit back with a bizarre own goal from Devon Jacobs and a late Craig Dargo header. The 2-1 defeat consigned Stirling to the Third Division.
"I'm ecstatic about the result but all credit to Stirling as they were the better team. Their manager, Greig McDonald, should be proud of his boys for the way they fought to stay in the league," said the Dumbarton boss.
"Sometimes you get breaks, sometimes you don't and today we got breaks big time. It's fantastic for a first-season team and all the credit goes to the players."
Dumbarton face Brechin in their final game of the regular season on Saturday, before taking on Arbroath in the play-offs.
