Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle has admitted his interest in securing the services of Austin McCann and Colin Stewart.

Left-back McCann is currently looking for a new club after being released by Dunfermilne at the end of the season while goalkeeper Stewart is also a free transfer following his four-year spell at First Division Morton. "Both of these players have a vast amount of experience and would be good additions," Boyle told the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser. "I've said before that we have a young squad so we want to bring in a bit more experience. "We've got 15 players, including Grant Evans, signed up so we aren't in a rush. We'll spend the money we've got wisely." Boyle is trying to rebuild his squad for the upcoming Second Division campaign after seeing his side miss out on promotion in the play-offs and has already completed the signing of former Hamilton and Morton defender Evans. The Diamonds have missed out on the signing of Rangers goalkeeper Grant Adam but are hopeful David Lilley and Derek Holmes will sign one-year contract extensions at Broomfield Stadium.
