Arbroath manager Paul Sheerin has convinced full-back Mark Baxter to ignore interest from elsewhere and extend his stay at Gayfield.
The 27-year-old played alongside Sheerin during his early days as a professional at St Johnstone before enjoying a six-year spell at Cowdenbeath.
Arbroath pulled off a transfer coup last summer by luring the Cowdenbeath skipper away from the First Division and Baxter played a key role in the Red Lichties' run to the play-offs last term.
He has now agreed to extend his deal as Arbroath look to bounce back from their play-off disappointment next season.
"I am delighted to have Mark on board as he was a very consistent performer for us last season," Sheerin said.
