Carcary signs new Brechin deal

Brechin City midfielder Derek Carcary becomes the eighth player to re-sign for the club ahead of next season's campaign.

The 25-year-old will join Bryan Hodge, Gerry McLauchlan, Craig Nelson, Paul McLean, Gary Fusco, David McKenna and Craig Molloy at Glebe Park next season as the club look to improve on a disappointing season in the Scottish Second Division. Brechin made the play-offs three seasons in a row, including last year's final against Ayr, but could only manage an eighth place finish in the 2011-12 campaign and Jim Weir's side are now beginning to build a squad for next term. A statement on the club's official website read: "The re-building process has already started for next season with the nucleus of a strong squad taking shape. Too all of our supporters, and as fans ourselves, we assure you that we shall do all we can to ensure we are competing at the right end of the table next term."
