Airdrie United manager Jimmy Boyle says his side are prepared for next season, regardless of what division they are in.

The Diamonds, who were denied promotion from Division Two in a play-off final defeat to Dumbarton, could find themselves promoted to the First Division if newco Rangers are demoted to the Scottish Football League next month. According to SFL rules Airdrie, as losing play-off finalists, will rightly take the place of any First Division side who move up to the Premier League and Boyle insists his side are more than ready for whatever challenge lies ahead. "If we are made a First Division club we will deal with it as it comes," he told the Daily Record. "Our spending and squad building would not change. "We'd be part-time and spend within our means, so our team would not be much different. "If it happens, great. We will try to stay in the First Division. If not, then we will play in the Second and try to win promotion." If the Diamonds do move up to the second tier it will be the third time in four years they have been promoted to the First Division due to financial problems of another side.
