East Fife have brought experienced striker Gareth Wardlaw back to the Kingdom of Fife after a two-year absence.
The 33-year-old frontman began his senior career in 2004 when he moved from amateur side Burntisland Shipyard to join Ayr. After over 100 appearances for the Somerset Park club, he joined Raith Rovers and helped them lift the Second Division title in 2009. Wardlaw then joined Cowdenbeath where he scored 19 times in 38 appearances as Danny Lennon's side won promotion to the First Division and Lennon took the striker to Paisley when he became St Mirren manager in the summer of 2010. After a season in the SPL Wardlaw returned to Ayr a second time and he scored three times in 14 starts, with East Fife boss Gordon Durie saying: "Gareth has a wealth of experience and I am sure that will be an asset to our side."
