Ayr manager Mark Roberts sees Michael Moffat and Ross Robertson as key men in his quest to take the club back to the second tier.
Roberts replaced Brian Reid as manager of Ayr last month and has been entrusted with the task of rebuilding a relegated squad. The Somerset Park outfit dropped down to Division Two after losing out to Airdrie United in the play-offs. The new boss is keen to build his team around front duo Moffat and Robertson, who have just signed new deals to stay at Ayr. "I believe that Michael can be a 20-goal-a-season striker and that Ross can support him in achieving that. Ross has not played much as a striker for Ayr as yet but I see that as his natural position," said Roberts. "We are looking to bounce back to the First Division at the first attempt and these guys will help us do that."
