Annan boss Harry Cairney admits Saturday's performance at home to Peterhead summed up why they missed out on the play-offs.

The Black and Golds needed a victory to keep their play-off hopes alive but fell to a comprehensive 3-0 defeat. Goals from Bryan Deasley, Callum Macdonald and substitute Rory McAllister ensured another season in the Third Division for Annan. Cairney bemoaned his side's form in 2012 after just four wins since the turn of the year. "We didn't start well at all. It was a disappointing performance but it pretty much sums up our second half of the season," Cairney said following the latest loss.
