Deland leaves Berwick

Berwick Rangers full-back Michael Deland has decided to leave the Third Division club to drop down to non-league football.

The former Hearts defender has decided to sign for Newtongrange Star after only spending a year at the Borderers, who he played for 18 times last season, scoring twice.
The 21-year-old started his career at SPL side hearts, though didn't figure for the first-team, before he played five times for East Fife during a loan spell from the Tynecastle club, before he joined Berwick.
