Ayr boss Mark Roberts has praised his side's second-half performance in their 6-1 Scottish Communities League Cup win over Clyde.
All six of the Honest Men's goals came after half-time as Ayr booked their place in the third round of the cup with an emphatic win at Somerset Park. Roberts admits his side were not at the best in the first-half of the tie but says he is delighted with the way they turned it on at the break. "In the first 45 minutes we played at too slow a pace and the difference in the second half was unbelievable," he told the club website. "Davie Winters starts it off with a wonder goal which reminded me of myself. As soon as we scored the first, the confidence was flowing and we were different class." Roberts added: "We scored some great goals and the linking play was excellent as well. "I can't speak highly enough of the players for their second half performance."
