Alloa manager Paul Hartley has backed newco Rangers to run out comfortable winners in the Third Division this season.

Hartley guided the Wasps to automatic promotion from the Third Division last season and has now put his faith in Ally McCoist's side, although he admits they will have some adapting to do. "The surroundings inside the grounds are so different from the SPL," he told the Daily Record. "The facilities at most clubs are nowhere near as good. "The standard will not be anywhere near what Ally has been used to. Some of the games will not be pretty, it will just be a battle." He added: "Rangers are favourites to win the league and that is understandable. "They have been linked with players such as Craig Beattie and Dean Shiels and if these boys are coming in for four or five grand a week then one of those wages will be more than the entire budget of other teams in the division."
