Arbroath have snapped up former Dunfermline defender Alex Keddie on a free transfer.

Keddie was one of a number of Pars players released at the end of the season following their relegation from the Scottish Premier League and will now join up with Paul Sheerin's side ahead of the upcoming season. Arbroath boss Sheerin is delighted with his latest capture and hopes the 31-year-old can have a strong impact on the rest of the team. "Alex has joined us for a couple of pre-season games and enjoyed them," he said. "We are delighted to bring him in on board and I am sure his experience will be a great asset to our squad." The centre half is one of eight new arrivals at Gayfield Park with Arbroath seeking promotion to the First Division following their defeat in the play-offs last term.
