Roberts delighted with Marenghi coup

Former Rangers playmaker Anthony Marenghi has made the move to Ayr after impressing during a trial spell.

The one-time Celtic youth player was released by Old Firm rivals Rangers at the end of last season and Ayr boss Mark Roberts moved swiftly to take Marenghi to Somerset Park. Roberts has been impressed by the 19-year-old during pre-season and believes he will be a good signing for the Second Division outfit. "Anthony is a really good football player who is comfortable on the ball and adds a great attacking threat to our side. I am delighted to have him here and I am sure he will shine for us," said the Ayr manager.
