Dumbarton goalkeeper Arnaud Gastal has turned down a new deal and left the club, just five months after joining.
The 20-year-old joined the Sons in December on a free transfer after his deal at La Berrichonne de Chateauroux expired but played just once for Alan Adamson's side, featuring in their 4-2 win over Brechin City.
Gastal has been studying at Hamilton University but has now ended his stay at Dumbarton and returned to his home in Paris, a decision which has disappointed Adamson.
"We had hoped that Arnaud would stay and provide competition for Stephen Grindlay and Jamie Ewings, however he has opted to return to France," he said.
"Hopefully he will find a new club there quite quickly."
