Peterhead have lost out on the signing of Michael Andrews after the goalkeeper decided to join Brechin City.
The Balmoor club took the former Scotland Under-21 stopper on trial during their pre-season campaign and hoped to secure his signature before the start of the 2012-13 season, with manager Jim McInally announcing the capture on the club's official website. But the 22-year-old has since done a U-turn on his former boss, who managed him during a year at East Stirling, and signed for Second Division club Brechin. Andrews had been training with the Blue Toon following his release from Montrose and played in a friendly for the club, however he also featured in Brechin's 5-0 pre-season win over his former club at Links Park on Saturday and is widely expected to sign in the coming days.
