Adkins pleased with squad

Nigel Adkins has described Wednesday night's victory against Sheffield Wednesday as a 'defining game' in the Irons season.
Scunthorpe went ahead after only 80 seconds thanks to a goal from Gary Cooper and rounded the game off with a Grant McCann strike 13 minutes from time.
The Irons are now six points clear of the relegation zone and Adkins was delighted by the attitude his players showed after the cup defeat against Man City and hopes it will be the spark as they aim to avoid relegation.
Adkins told the club website: "We knew that this game would be the hardest of the season and a defining game in the season. The lads had to show fantastic character. When you've had a big game, it's the game after that is always difficult because of the mental energy you exert."
