Scunthorpe's central defenders Paul Reid and David Mirfin have earned special praise from manager Alan Knill.
Reid has broken his nose four times since Mirfin arrived on loan from Watford in February, while the Iron have lost twice and conceded nine goals in 12 matches during that time. "Every now and then [Reid] found himself isolated," said Knill after Saturday's goalless draw with Notts County. "But full credit to him he stayed on his feet, didn't dive in and did really well. "You have to do that and I have to say him and Mirfin have been doing that week in, week out. "That's why we're seven unbeaten, because we have people that will do the horrible things and put their bodies on the line. "Most defending is horrible and the good thing about those two is that they do it very well."
