Crawley first up for Iron

Scunthorpe will challenge newly-promoted Crawley as the 2012/13 npower League One season gets underway on August 18.

Alan Knill takes his side to the Broadfield Stadium before overseeing home clashes with League Two play-off winners Crewe on August 21 and Yeovil on August 25. Promotion-hopefuls Sheffield United come to Glanford Park on September 8 with the reverse fixture pencilled in for Boxing Day. The Iron's festive schedule continues with a cross-country trip to face Tranmere on December 29 before the visit of Oldham on New Year's Day. United journey to Portsmouth on September 29 before travelling to Coventry on November 10. The tour of the recently-relegated Championship clubs concludes with a short trip to Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium on November 24, with the reverse fixture taking place on March 23. The Easter Weekend sees the Iron travel to Preston on April 6 before the season draws to a close with a home clash against League Two champions Swindon on April 27.
