Midfield ace issues Iron's goal warning

Scunthorpe United, 17:34, September 7, 2009 ,

Michael O'Connor is confident the goals will eventually come for Scunthorpe as long as they keep 'doing all right going forward'.

The Iron's midfielder has been frustrated that the team have only managed three goals in five Championship games - all of which came in a 3-2 win against Derby County at Glanford Park last month. And O'Connor insists that they need to sharpen up in attack to start getting the goals their good play has warranted.
He told the Scunthorpe Evening Telegraph: "We need to keep playing well and start scoring goals all over the pitch.
"We've only scored a few in the league, which has surprised me a little bit because our attacking play is supposed to be our strongest side.
"We're doing all right going forward, we just can't get the ball in the net. But it will come and when it does, hopefully it will keep coming and we'll get the goals."
